What is the distinctive plea of the church of Christ?
It is primarily a plea for a united faith based upon the Bible. In a divided religious world it is believed that the Bible is the only possible common denominator upon which all of the God-fearing people of the land can unite. This is an appeal to go back to the Bible. It is a plea to speak where the Bible speaks and to remain silent where the Bible is silent in all matters that pertain to religion. It further emphasizes that in everything religious there must be authority from God’s word for all that is done. The objective is religious unity of all believers in Christ. (John 17:20-21) The basis is the Bible and the pursuit of New Testament Christianity.
It has become one of the biggest misconceptions, “Christians are supposed to be perfect” – never needing encouragement, inspiration, healing, or forgiveness. Truth be told, being a Christian does not prevent you from ever struggling nor feeling down, defeated or discouraged. We are only made perfect through the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Only those that are “in Christ” have this healing and reconciliation with the Father. (Romans 6:3-11, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Galatians 3:26-29) As a member of the Lord’s church not only will you find inspiring messages; but you will find inspirational words of encouragement based upon God’s Word (bible verses) and real life experiences. Come join us as we develop our personal relationships with Jesus Christ.
